Using the hall for your own events, parties or functions

Grayswood Village Hall is the ideal location for that special event, whether it is a wedding "milestone" birthday party or an anniversary (but please see note below). The hall is just across the road from All Saints' Church in Grayswood, which makes it a popular place for gatherings after special events such as baptisms or funerals or memorial services. With the halls large doors opening directly on to a private terrace overlooking the village green, and the hall's airy and spacious interior, you will be able to entertain up to 110 guests in comfort and style!

You or your caterers will feel right at home in our spacious, modern and professionally equipped kitchen, which is included in your hire of the hall, as is the use of tables and chairs which are easily accessible from a storage area adjoining the main hall. There is even crockery and cutlery for 110.

When the time comes to strike up the band and take to the dance floor, your guests will love our sprung wooden floor which was laid especially with the fleet-of-foot in mind. A range of lighting moods can be created, from bright and cheerful with the attractive overhead lights, to intimate and atmospheric, using the wall uplighters.

Don't forget that if you are planning a more select gathering, for up to thirty guests, the Oonagh Jeffrey Room may be just the space you are looking for. Comfortable seating, fully carpeted and with a view of the Green and the Church from the large, feature window, this is a room everyone loves to be in. With its own private kitchenette and attractive china for tea and coffee, you or your caterers will be able to serve hot and cold beverages and light refreshments with ease.

Please note, there is no glassware at the hall, so if you are serving wine or cold drinks, you will need to bring sufficient glassware. If you are preparing food, you will also need to bring any kitchenware you need, such as knives, pots, pans or oven trays. We recommend discussing your requirements with our booking secretary, to check up on what is available.

The hall is available for wedding receptions, provided that the hirer is a resident of Grayswood. The hall follows a policy of good neighbourliness with those living close to it. This means that evening events involving amplified music are also restricted to hirers resident in the village of Grayswood. Due to the difficulties faced by all unsupervised village halls with 18th and 21st birthday parties, bookings for these or similar events are not normally accepted. All bookings are accepted at the discretion of the Contacts committee.
